“The Law”
(A variation on a poem in Apocalypse Dance titled “The Way”)
. . . the clarity unclear— the charity severe— the mercy by condition— the punishment perdition— the law still inconclusive— my mortal faith elusive— the judgement inconsistent— the enforcement damned persistent— the knowledge bringing pride— the suffering inside— the way is in the word— the voice remains unheard— the truth is comprehensive . . . but I am apprehensive . . .
